Having a d&b rig made me very happy as I am a big fan, which made my mix very easy to do,’ said Rickey Ricketts, FOH audio for LMYW headliner, Rudimental. ‘The PA was set up in a way which meant I didn't have to do much on my graphic. I'm looking forward to coming back in the near future and to work with the eclipse guys again.

eclipse was also responsible for the communications infrastructure for the festival. To meet these needs the rental house supplied 20 Clear-Com Helixnet headsets plus 30 Motorola GP340s. ‘We know that when touring productions come in, the more relaxed and on top of their requirements we are, the easier their day will be and in turn the focus becomes on the important factors of tweaking everything to perfection,’ said eclipse head of audio, John Parkhouse. ‘The LMYW festival was a great show to work on, where once again the audio department was given the opportunity to prove that we do attain a world class delivery and level of service, something which we concentrate on heavily.’

In terms of video, eclipse supplied a 9mm LED upstage screen measuring 14m x 5m along with two 9mm LED IMAG screens measuring 6m x 3.6m, and a 9mm LED DJ booth surround. All of which was driven by two Green Hippo Taiga media servers.

The lighting side saw eclipse supply over 140 fixtures including a number of Clay Paky Mythos, Clay Paky B-Eye and Martin Mac Viper Profiles. These were controlled with a GrandMA2 Full Size and GrandMA2 Light. During the planning stages, the lighting crew used its new Wysiwyg suite to pre-visualise the event. ‘Having arrived on site at 2am straight off an international flight from the UK, it was fantastic to arrive to a fully functional, well-crewed system,’ said Jonny Gaskell, Rudimental’s lighting designer. ‘The crew really helped an incoming LD get the end result you are after with the minimal amount of effort as they were able to pre-empt what it is you are trying to achieve before you ask for it, thanks to you all, it was a really enjoyable couple of days.’

The power requirements for the festival saw eclipse supply three 350kVA generators for the performance area as well as one 350kVA and two 200kVA generators for the rest of the site. Over 12km of cable was distributed around the venue, ranging from 16A single phase through to 240mm powerlock.

This event marked another successful delivery by the whole eclipse team,’ concluded eclipse Staging Services GM, Martin Lubach. ‘The scorching hot conditions were made bearable by the positive attitude shown by the entire crew and each of the production teams whom we had the pleasure to work with over the weekend, and hope to see back in the UAE soon."
