UAE: Furthering the eclipse Group’s commitment to the health and safety of their staff and clients, eclipse Staging Services and eclipse Venue Services have received both the OHSAS 18001:2007 Occupational Health Safety Management System certification, and the ISO 14001:2015 Environmental Management System certification.
The OHSAS 18001 certification means that the company has been audited and measured against Health & Safety best practices, and is evidence that eclipse is compliant with international standards of Health & Safety. Now, with this management system in place, eclipse can better maintain their Health and Safety Policies, improve their efficiency, and most importantly, continue to ensure the safety of their staff and clients.
The ISO 14001 certification is in relation to the environment in which eclipse operates, including their warehouses and on-site at events. This certification shows that eclipse has demonstrated their commitment to safeguarding their surroundings and decreasing their ecological footprint through reporting their actions and planning how they can improve their efforts. With this system in place, eclipse can control and successfully manage the most significant aspects of their impact, including emissions, waste-handling, utilising natural resources and energy efficiency.
“Adding to the many actions we take to increase our HSE standards; we have developed a Health, Safety & Environmental Management System Manual, outlining the processes and framework required to manage and maintain our HSE objectives, as per these certifications and systems. This manual is now included in the HSE inductions given to every new member of staff, detailing the level of safety knowledge required for each specific position within the company. Furthermore, we have made this manual available to the entire Group and their clients as a reference to the HSE mechanisms in place.” Comments eclipse Group HSE Manager, Manu Abraham.
These certificates require an annual internal audit of the Company’s management system to ensure compliance and continued development of their HSE policies. eclipse will then need to be re-certified every three years.
Simon Ransom, eclipse Group CEO concludes, “Myself and the entire eclipse Group are continually aiming to meet the international standards of HSE and develop with them; ensuring that we keep our staff safe while allowing visiting companies to operate at the safe standards that they are accustomed to. With the approach of the Expo 2020, it is vital that we all work towards bettering our industry’s standards, making a theme of the Expo 2020, a sustainable future, a reality.”
